Queens Park Rangers are looking to sign an attacking midfielder during the January transfer window, but Bristol City’s Kasey Palmer is not a target.
The Rs lost influential President Ilias over the next few weeks as he teamed up with Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations. This has increased the need for a new addition to this position, and it has been reported that Palmer is a target.
The 25-year-old has had a frustrating season so far having struggled for playing time under Nigel Pearson, so a decision in January seems likely with Reading, Huddersfield and Birmingham also seen as excited.
However, despite reports to the contrary, West London Sport confirmed that Palmer isn’t someone Mark Warburton is going to bring in this month.
They go on to say that a number ten is a priority for the Rs this month, and although QPR has been ‘probed’ as to whether they will take on the former Chelsea man, they are not going to pursue a deal for Palmer.
Have any of these 30 former QPR players ever played abroad?
This is a bit of a surprise as there were strong rumors that Palmer would go to QPR and given their need for a new number ten, it seemed like a good fit.
But, for whatever reason, the deal won’t happen, but R fans will be delighted to see that this is still an area of the pitch the club are looking to strengthen before the window closes.
So this is just to be patient and it will be interesting to see what business is done by the Londoners they are looking to promote for promotion.
