Jordan Travis is having a game-changing effect on Florida State football

Quarterback Jordan Travis is often a topic of conversation among Florida State fans. You have your fans who believe in Travis and then you have your fans who are on the other side of that fence. By comparison, the Seminoles offense would have been tied for 6th in yards per play last season with Travis in the field and tied for 121st with him off the field. In 2020 and 2021, there were often times when it seemed like the staff weren’t quite on Travis during the season. For the upcoming season, there really is no contender to knock the Florida native off the starting line and he will be able to lead the offense without any distractions.

Some believe that FSU doesn’t win more than one game without Travis last season. If he’s healthy for the whole season, he’s arguably leading the Seminoles to win against NC State, Jacksonville State and possibly Florida, where he played but was clearly limited by an injury to his shoulder. That’s the biggest downside to his game right now, staying healthy, and that’s going to be paramount this fall.
