Here are the top stories in Sachem today:

  2. Beautiful weekend ahead with tons to do. Get ready for a beautiful June weekend and find out what’s happening on Long Island. Check out this list of activities, which has something for everyone! (Patch)
  3. ICYMI: Suffolk County Police will be deploying officer-worn body cameras. The first phase of the rollout was announced Thursday by Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “It is undeniable that cameras change while providing video and audio that allows an event to be independently verified,Bellone said. “Our body-worn camera program will ensure that we hold our officers to the highest standards, highlighting the good policing work we know our officers do on a daily basis and ensuring that everyone is treated fair and equitable manner. In short, this body-worn camera program will protect our officers, ensure accountability and build public confidence. It’s a win-win scenario.” (Patch)
