Miami Running Back Cody Brown Transferred to Virginia Football

Virginia’s football back room received a much-needed boost from the transfer portal as Miami running back Cody Brown announced his commitment to Virginia on Wednesday night.

Brown, a 5’11”, 215-pound guard from Lilburn, Georgia, appeared in ten games as a rookie for the Hurricanes. He carried the ball 34 times for 139 total yards and scored three touchdowns with a average of 4.1 yards per carry.

Originally a four-star prospect fresh out of high school, Brown was ranked 12th running back in the nation by ESPN and rushed for more than 1,500 yards in each of his last three seasons at Parkview High School in Georgia.

Fifth-year running back Ronnie Walker Jr. suffered an injury during spring training in early April that will keep him out of the field for a long time, leaving the Cavaliers a bit thin at running back. Cody Brown’s commitment will certainly go a long way in complementing Virginia’s depth as a running back.
