FEATURE: Appreciate the role of Supporters Union – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Sport is the most precious asset that we can pass on to the next generation given the dedication of Ghanaians to sport, especially football.

Insofar as we are talking about the Black Stars, we must also recognize the fact that supporters’ unions are also very important and an integral part of the sport/the team. Both are necessary to make sport enjoyable and attractive.

We need supporters and fans because of the inspiration and motivation they provide to players and officials.

Today, the media: newspapers, radios, TV stations and other online platforms have all hailed the Black Stars, but have forgotten and failed to recognize the efforts of supporter groups who have sacrificed their time, resources and their lives to cheer on the Black Stars in Kumasi and Abuja in Nigeria to ensure Ghana are among the best of the best in football at Qatar 2022.

Dark history nearly repeated itself when we all saw rocks, bottles and other missiles thrown onto the pitch by Nigerian fans just to show their displeasure at losing to Ghana’s great Black Stars. Kudos to Nigerian Security for protecting Ghana fans, journalists and the Black Stars team.

However, our qualification would not have been possible without adding the necessary ingredient like Ghana supporters unions.

Many believe that their presence contributed immensely to Ghana’s qualification for Qatar 2022.

Fan unions also deserve attention as they are part of the Black Stars victory.

It is good that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has recognized and appreciates them.

I want to use this platform to appeal to companies and individuals who have money to support and sponsor fan unions.

There are many and they are all important but whenever the Black Stars play they must be one and unite under the flag of Ghana.

Long live Ghana Sports, long live the fans, long live the Black Stars and Ghana Football.
